Ready for your first HR Advisor role?

Our client is looking for an ambitious HR professional who’s ready to move into an HR Advisor position for the first time. If you’re eager to build your Employee Relations experience and learn from an experienced, supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.

Based in lovely offices in Wakefield (WF4 to be exact), you’ll join a collaborative HR consultancy that specialises in supporting schools and businesses with practical, people-focused HR advice. We believe being together in the office helps you learn faster, build confidence and develop your career.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support a varied portfolio of clients, gaining exposure across the full employee lifecycle. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day HR advice to managers.
  • Supporting Employee Relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance.
  • Managing your own caseload with support from senior colleagues.
  • Drafting HR documentation and correspondence.
  • Supporting formal meetings where appropriate.
  • Building strong client relationships.
  • Assisting with HR projects, audits, policy updates and training.
  • Keeping up to date with employment law and HR best practice.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in an HR Assistant, People Assistant, HR Coordinator or similar role.
  • Exposure to Employee Relations processes.
  • A good understanding of UK employment law.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop a career in HR.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards it).
  • Experience in education or a unionised environment.
