The Opportunity

We’re recruiting for an HR Advisor to join a highly regarded charity that’s recognised as a Great Place to Work, including awards for wellbeing and supporting women in the workplace.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys Employee Relations and wants to develop their HR career in a supportive environment. You’ll join an experienced HR team with plenty of autonomy, the chance to influence culture, and the opportunity to genuinely make a difference.

This is a hybrid role 2-3 days a week in their Horsforth office (LS18), and they’re flexible with candidates looking for compressed or part-time hours or those who need to start/finish early also.

The Role

The position has been redesigned to allow you to focus primarily on Employee Relations and case management, while HR administration and systems are managed elsewhere within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing sickness absence, capability and disciplinary casework.
  • Advising and coaching managers on employee relations issues.
  • Supporting complex wellbeing and workplace adjustment cases.
  • Contributing to HR projects, policies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Helping drive a positive, high-performing culture across the organisation.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has HR Advisory or Employee Relations experience.
  • Is confident handling or keen to develop experience in complex casework.
  • Can build strong relationships with managers and provide pragmatic HR advice.
  • Is resilient, empathetic and able to work with sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.
  • Wants to learn, develop and grow within a supportive HR team.

Candidates stepping up from an HR Coordinator or HR Assistant role with solid ER exposure will also be considered.

The Environment

This is not a traditional corporate HR role. You’ll support managers and employees who may have complex health conditions, neurodiversity or wellbeing needs. The organisation is moving from a culture of high support, low performance to high support, high performance, so they’re looking for someone who can balance compassion with confidence and help managers make good people decisions.

Flexibility

The organisation is committed to flexible working and is happy to consider:

  • Compressed hours
  • 9-day fortnights
  • Flexible start and finish times

However, this is an office-based role, particularly during your first 6-12 months, so candidates should be able to regularly commute to Horsforth 2-3 days per week.

Why Join?

  • Salary up tp £34k
  • Award-winning employer with an excellent wellbeing culture.
  • Supportive and experienced HR team.
  • Genuine autonomy and opportunity to shape how HR is delivered.
  • Broad ER exposure and career development.
  • Flexible working arrangements within a collaborative, office-based environment.
