We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Employee Relations & Organisational Change Specialist to support the delivery of complex people and organisational change.

This is a specialist role requiring strong technical expertise across organisational change, workforce restructuring and Suitable Alternative Employment (SAE). You’ll work closely with senior leaders, providing expert guidance on colleague treatment and helping ensure change programmes are delivered fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation and internal policy.

What you’ll be doing

Organisational Change & Employee Relations

  • Lead the people implementation of organisational design changes, restructures and operating model transformations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the employee relations implications of organisational change, advising leaders on appropriate colleague treatment and change approaches.
  • Assess and compare proposed and existing roles to determine whether they constitute Suitable Alternative Employment (SAE), alternative employment, a selection situation or informal change, providing clear and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Provide specialist advice across redundancy, redeployment, collective and individual consultation and selection processes.
  • Support senior leaders in balancing organisational requirements with fair, consistent and legally compliant colleague outcomes.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to plan and deliver trade union engagement, colleague communications and end-to-end change implementation activity.
  • Coach and advise senior leaders through complex employee relations matters arising from organisational change.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations or Organisational Change professional who can confidently operate as a subject matter expert within complex transformation environments.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant experience delivering complex organisational change, restructuring and workforce transformation programmes.
  • Strong technical expertise across employee relations and organisational change, particularly redundancy, consultation, selection, redeployment and SAE assessments.
  • Demonstrable experience assessing and comparing roles to determine appropriate colleague treatment and redeployment outcomes.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, with the ability to apply this pragmatically within large-scale change programmes.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders through sensitive and complex people decisions.
  • Strong judgement, analytical capability and a data-informed approach to decision-making.
  • The confidence to challenge constructively, provide clear recommendations and navigate situations where there may not be a straightforward answer.
