No agencies please

One of the most common phrases we see on job adverts here at fólk recruitment is “No agencies, thank you.” Or “Recruitment agencies – we’ve got this one!”

But, it’s the second time you’ve advertised the role in the last 6 weeks, so, do you really have it?

It’s very common for clients to think they can advertise alone and find the best talent in the market. In our experience, you’d be naive to think that the best candidates are just sitting on job boards with alerts set up.

Whilst we appreciate that working out who the good recruitment agencies are can feel time-consuming, a great recruiter will have access to hidden talent that you simply don’t find from advertising.

– They’ll proactively headhunt when your TA team doesn’t have the time.
– They’ve often met candidates in person to better assess cultural fit.
– They have a deeper understanding of their specialist market than an in-house recruiter juggling many varied roles.

Recruiting via an agency can feel expensive upfront, but what’s the cost to your business if you don’t hire quickly?

If you’ve advertised once already, maybe it’s time to consider another approach.

What are your thoughts?
